Choose CK Supply as Your Compressed Gas Distributor

With over 77 years of experience in industrial gases and welding products, customers can rely on CK Supply as their sole supplier of industrial, medical, and atmospheric gases. Since we’re the largest independent supplier of industrial gases in Missouri, you can trust the knowledge and experience of CK Supply.

Our six retail locations in Missouri and Illinois offer an array of industrial gases, including:

  • Argon

Argon is a colorless, odorless inert gas that is most commonly used for shielding gas (in pure form or in various mixtures) in welding and other high-temperature processes.

  • Helium

Helium is widely used in a variety of applications, including to cool MRI magnets, shield welding processes, balloon lifting, and leak detection.

  • Hydrogen

Compressed hydrogen is used in many research and industrial applications, including welding, annealing, and heat treating.

  • Acetylene

Acetylene is a highly flammable, colorless gas. It’s the most common fuel gas used with cutting torches. Some industry experts believe it’s the hottest and most efficient fuel gas available. Low moisture content is the secret to the gas’s effectiveness in generating heat.

  • Oxygen

In industrial processes, oxygen is used with fuel gases in gas welding, gas cutting, oxygen scarfing, flame cleaning, flame hardening, and flame straightening. Medical-grade oxygen is also important for patient stabilization, breathing assistance, and respiratory treatments.

  • Propane

Propane is a colorless, highly-flammable fuel gas. It’s a byproduct of natural gas processing and petroleum refining. Although commonly used for home heat applications, it offers unique benefits as a fuel source for forklifts, generators, and metal cutting.

  • Blue Flame Plus (Propylene)

Blue Flame Plus is an outstanding product because it has a high flame temperature of 6,000 degrees Fahrenheit in oxygen, a flame structure well suited to heavy burning and heating. These properties allow Blue Flame Plus to cut, heat treat, flame harden, metallize, and braze quickly, cleanly, and economically.

  • Nitrogen

Making up 78% of the air we breathe, nitrogen is used for laser assist gas, purging, blanketing, and pressure testing pipelines, cryopreservation of medical matter, and other industry purposes. Food and beverage industries also use nitrogen to preserve food, transport products, and create carbonation in sodas and sparkling drinks.

CK Supply specializes in nitrogen applications and equipment of all cylinder sizes in gas and liquid form. Our nitrogen tanks range anywhere from 50 to 11,000 gallons. We take pride in our wide variety of tanks, as we want to assist businesses of all sizes.

  • Carbon Dioxide

Carbon dioxide in solid and liquid form is generally used for refrigeration and cooling. It’s also used as an inert gas in chemical processes and in fire extinguishers. Dry ice, the solid form of carbon dioxide, can also be used to safely and efficiently clean industrial equipment.

Our carbon dioxide is also valuable for the food and beverage industry. You can use our dry ice to keep food products fresh during transport, help food retain nutrients, and add carbonation to soda and other drinks.

Specialty Gases

“Laboratory gas” is a pretty broad term and can be a lot of things to a lot of our customers. For some, it defines the gases needed for process control, such as helium as a gas chromatography (GC) carrier gas, or is a pure gas needed to assist with instrument functioning. For others, it’s used to calibrate instruments or as instrument support and requires strict analysis to match manufacturer specifications.

Regardless of your application, our gases are what we say they are. It’s guaranteed. Our lab has been thoroughly inspected, certified, and documented to be compliant with FDA, DOT, OSHA, and EPA requirements, so your custom gas mix’s purity is maximized and accuracy is exact.

Ultimately, what matters to us is what it means to you, and what you need your gas to be and do in your lab. We can produce it all, and will do so to your highly technical specifications, guaranteeing that you receive exactly what you need. Once we produce it, we’re also beside you for all technical support, laboratory development, and to assist you with building any best practices into your lab operations.

Consultation and Repair When You Need It

Welding equipment often needs to perform in challenging workplace conditions. Even with basic maintenance and care, machines might still go offline due to a wide range of complications.

  • Dirty filters can affect fuel efficiency and performance.
  • Worn out drive rolls can impact wire feeding.
  • Malfunctioning welding guns can cause blow backs and excessive spatter.
  • Engine drive on the job site or truck may get pummeled by rain, cold, heat, wind, sleet, and more.

In many cases, dust, dirt, and grime are the main culprits of costly breakdowns. Hiring an expert to troubleshoot and diagnose your welding equipment may be the difference between fixing a simple problem and replacing an entire unit.
