CK Supply Attends FABTECH 2019

FABTECH 2019, North America’s largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event, hosted an enthusiastic crowd at Chicago’s McCormick Place November 11-14.

All local Account Managers, Inside Sales, & Counter Sales staff from CK Supply attended this year’s event looking to gain product & technical knowledge and meet with industry leaders about new and upcoming products. During the 4 day event, CK Supply visited booths from: Miller, Lincoln, ESAB, Hypertherm, Hougen, Koike, Abicor Binzel, Strong Hands, Weiler, Walter, Profax, OTC, Metabo, Black Stallion, Direct Wire and Cable, Mathey Dearman, Midalloy, SAIT, Tillman, Optrel, Jackson, Harris, Ace Fume Extractors, BUGO, Stumpf, AMADA, Fanuc, Panasonic, & hundreds of more!

Despite the unexpected winter weather, the 2019 event closed with record attendance, marking a 7% increase over the previous FABTECH Chicago. A total of 48,278 attendees from 95 countries participated in four full days of product evaluation, education and collaborative discussions on key industry issues. Three massive exhibit halls full of more than 500 new products and 1,700 exhibitors highlighted the emerging trends and technologies influencing the future of manufacturing.

During the event, CK Supply was able to view full product lines from large equipment manufacturers that typically you would need to visit in factory showrooms. “Being able to have all of these products in one place gives our customers the opportunity to have CK Supply inspect and give reports on potential product purchases.” Said Timm Evans, Vice President of Sales for CK Supply. “We have recognized the desire from multiple customers to attend the event but aren’t able to attend because of busy schedules. We continue to provide reports and visuals for them to better make their decisions for future capital investments.”

According to numerous exhibiting companies, sales activity on the exhibit floor was robust from day one and continued throughout the week. David Lambert, vice president of sales, Miller Electric Mfg LLC, said “FABTECH 2019 was extremely positive for Miller. We had great meetings with our current key customers and new customers around the solutions we offer. FABTECH is always a great show, but this was an exceptional year.” During the event, Miller unveiled the NEW Syncrowave® 300. Pro-Set™ technology takes the guesswork out of dialing in the correct welding parameters, which ensures that welders are able to produce good welds using the Syncrowave® 300 welding power source. They can get more work done and gain the best weld quality. Plus, the TIG welding power source is energy efficient to reduce operating costs. Get current with the new Syncrowave 300 TIG welder.

“FABTECH continues to attract the qualified buyers we want to meet. They come from across North America to witness the latest fabricating technology in action and talk to our engineering and product experts,” said Nick Ostrowski, general manager, AMADA NORTH AMERICA, INC. “It’s the ideal venue for us to launch new products and reinforce our market-leading brand position.”

The Smart Manufacturing Hub featured daily presentations focused on advanced manufacturing technologies including automation, IoT, 3D printing and more. The new Robotics and Industrial Automation Technology Pavilion showcased technologies that are rapidly changing the way the industry conducts business.

CK Supply continues to see an increase in the Robotics and Automation side of the industry. Our Hil Bax Technical Center staff also attended the event this year in order to gain valuable insight into the latest technology. CK Supply routinely has a large supply of Robotics and Automation equipment in the Hil Bax Technical Center for customers to try before they buy. “Being able to provide Robotic cells for our customers locally is a huge advantage for CK Supply.” Said Tim Schaaf from the Hil Bax Technical Center at CK Supply. “Showcasing the endless capabilities of the Robotics and Automation industry helps lead customers into the next generation of welding and metal fabrication.”

During the show, Koike introduced the NEW ShopPipe™ option for theShopPro™. It Incorporates easy to use software, easy setup and low maintenance mechanicals that are built to withstand the harsh work environment. A folddown head design saves space and makes it easy for existing customers to upgrade. The direct drive system with chuck precisely rotates the pipe, unlike competitors that use friction drive system with rollers or belts. The work cell is kept cleaner with built-in cutting slag pans and using a through-hole chuck design to safely and effectively remove smoke.

CK continues to be the market leader in advanced welding technology, resources, and education. If you or your company are considering the purchase of robotic cells, cutting tables, etc., please contact Tim Schaaf at (314) 644-3500 or Email [email protected]
